MONROVIA, Liberia – The Founder and Executive Director of MediaAid Foundation, Titus Tokpah, on Friday, 25 January departed Liberia for the United States of America to attend the 2019 International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP).
The International Visitor Leadership Program is the U.S. Department of State’s leading professional exchange program for current and emerging foreign leaders across the world.
In a press release issued Friday, MediaAid Foundation says the IVLP will afford Mr. Tokpah and other professionals from several countries around the world the opportunity to experience America firsthand and cultivate lasting relationships with their counterparts.
The 2019 IVLP is entitled “Education In The Digital Age”, and will run from January 28 to February 16 in Columbus, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Chicago and several other states and communities across the United States.
According to the release, Tokpah was nominated for the International Visitor Leadership Program in May 2018 by the United States Embassy near Monrovia through its Public Affairs Section.
As part of the IVLP, the MediaAid Founder and Executive Director and five other participants in Team “A” will get experience from several key American Institutions including the Huntsville City School System in Alabama, Athens State University, J.F. Drake State Community and Technical College, New Market Elementary School and the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
Mr. Tokpah also disclosed plans to explore partnerships for further advancement of the “Peter Quaqua School of Journalism”-PQSJ.
The “Peter Quaqua School of Journalism” is Liberia’s premier journalism school recognized and supported by the United States Government through its embassy near Monrovia.
Meanwhile, while away, the Coordinator of the Peter Quaqua School of Journalism, Mr. Joseph N. Kerkula, will lead activities at MediaAid in consultation with members of a new Board of Advisors.
