MONROVIA, Liberia – The Commander-In-Chief of the country’s fast-growing political movement the Economic Freedom Fighters of Liberia (EFFL), Emmanuel Gonquoi, has sent a note of solidarity to his South African counterpart, CIC Julius Sello Malema, ahead of South Africa’s General Elections later this year.

South Africa goes to the polls in May to elect a new National Assembly and new provincial legislatures in each of the country’s nine provinces. The election will be South Africa’s sixth held since the end of the apartheid system in 1994, and it will determine who becomes the next president of South Africa.

The three leading parties for the May 2019 elections include the governing African National Congress (ANC) led by current President Cyril Ramaphosa; the official opposition Democratic Alliance (DA) led by Mmusi Maimane; and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) led by Julius Malema.

In his note of solidarity, Gonquoi, on behalf of EFFL, the Liberian people, and in his own name as CIC of EFF-Liberia, extended to Malema and the EFF in South Africa, warmest and unwavering revolutionary greetings, on the auspicious occasion marking what he described as the dawning of an epoch in South Africa political history, as the EFF launches its manifesto at the Giant Stadium in Soshanguve, Tshwane, Gauteng Province, Republic of South Africa, ahead of the 2019 General Elections.

“It is always the right thing to be on the side of an organized group of patriots and nationalists who are resolved to stand firm, holding the fort, to fearlessly and unabatedly fight for social justice, equality and the unfettered thriving of democracy,” wrote CIC Gonquoi, who indicated that for these reasons and many more, EFFL has been led to truthfully believe its support is best placed with the EFF, “as we unapologetically make this solemn vow to stand with you in the EFF’s quest to making every South African in particular and all Africans across the continent in general, to learn well the lesson, that “political power without economic emancipation is meaningless.”

“CIC Malema, the leadership and entire membership, distinguished fighters of EFF, and the good people of South Africa, because of the moral integrity of the men and women in the EFF, the EFF’s relentless resolve to always be on the side of the people, its unbending commitment to consistently stand up to leaders and administrations that promulgate unjust laws, we see in you, CIC Malema and the EFF, we want to let you know you can count on EFF-Liberia,” CIC Gonquoi further wrote.

Statement of support from Economic Freedom Fighters of Liberia (EFFL)

To

Economic Freedom Fighters of South Africa

On the launch of EFF Manifesto on 02 February 2019

31 January 2019

Your Excellency, CIC Julius Malema;

Fellow soldiers and co-laborers of economic justice of the EFF;

And all South Africans;

On behalf of the Economic Freedom Fighters of Liberia, the Liberian people, and in my own name as CIC of EFF-Liberia, please accept our warmest and unwavering revolutionary greeting, on the auspicious occasion marking the dawning of an epoch in South Africa political history, as the EFF-South Africa launches its manifesto at the Giant Stadium in Soshanguve, Tshwane, Gauteng Province, Republic of South Africa, ahead of the 2019 General Elections.

It is always the right thing to be on the side of an organized group of patriots and nationalists who are resolved to stand firm, holding the fort, to fearlessly and unabatedly fight for social justice, equality and the unfettered thriving of democracy, hinged on the credence that gone are the days when the ruling establishment controlled every sector of the economy, and that now was the time for the people to have equal rights to trade, with all state assets being blended with robust industrial policies to support social and economic development.

No doubt, CIC Malema, you and the EFF have shown an exemplary standing in all these areas and even beyond, leading us, your Liberian brothers and sisters, your fellow soldiers of EFF-Liberia, to believe and truthfully so too, that our support is best placed with you, as we unapologetically make this solemn vow to stand with you in the EFF’s quest to making every South African in particular and all Africans across the continent in general, to learn well the lesson, that “political power without economic emancipation is meaningless.”

CIC Malema, the leadership and entire membership, distinguished fighters of EFF, and the good people of South Africa, because of the moral integrity of the men and women in the EFF, the EFF’s relentless resolve to always be on the side of the people, its unbending commitment to consistently stand up to leaders and administrations that promulgate unjust laws, we see in you, CIC Malema and the EFF, we want to let you know you can count on EFF-Liberia.

Having said that, we want to also let the good people of South Africa know, that by standing with CIC Malema and the EFF to democratically take proper charge of national leadership in your country, we are standing with you and your beautiful nation, because you well-meaning South Africans know much as we do, that EFF, as a minority, has already proven beyond all reasonable doubt that it can make things happen beyond measure for South Africa and South Africans.

We, therefore plea with you, the mass of the people of South Africa to go forth on Elections Day-2019 and choose a good leader in CIC Malema, because when the leader is good, the people will know joy and when the leader is bad, the people will know pain.

I suggest to you South Africans, that throughout the ages, it has always been the right of the people to determine the forward-march of their respective countries, but many times when we arrive at our critical moments, we have time without number chosen not to do the right thing – I implore you therefore, the good people of South Africa, to do otherwise this time round, by voting CIC Malema, who has been tested and proven to be the impeccable character that stands ready to make your already great country an even more greater one.

At this juncture, I intend not to bore you with more words, as the truth of the matter is that the answers to the problems South Africa is confronted with lie squarely in the laps of you South Africans – therefore, permit me to pause here a little and to ask you, going forward, what kind of South Africa do you want?

I am submitting to you, that you want a great South Africa; a South Africa that relishes economic emancipation for all of its people;

You want a South Africa that is inspired by ideals that promote the practice of organic forms of political leadership, which is indicative of selfless service and not an opportunity for self-enrichment and self-gratification;

You want a South Africa that its leaders will no longer keep the people oppressed under colonial domination and discontinue subjecting citizens to imperialist exploitation;

You want a South Africa that is ridded of imperialist domination;

You want a South Africa that takes pride in the expropriation of South Africa’s land without compensation for equal redistribution in use;

You want a South Africa that seeks the nationalization of mines, banks, and other strategic sectors of the economy, without compensation;

You want a South Africa which provides free quality education, healthcare, houses, and sanitation;

You want a South Africa where there exists massive protected industrial development to create millions of sustainable jobs, including the introduction of minimum wages in order to close the wage gap between the rich and the poor, close the apartheid wage gap and promote rapid career paths for Africans in the workplace;

You want a South Africa which champions massive development of the African economy and advocates for a move from reconciliation to justice in the entire continent;

You want a South Africa that stands ready to be open, accountable, with a corrupt-free government and society without fear of victimization by state agencies;

You want a South Africa where old men and young men and old women and young women alike, have the opportunity to serve their country;

You want a South Africa which will be respected in Africa – a South Africa which will be respected in the world; and I am submitting to you, that that South Africa is achievable if you, South Africans want it – you are the midwives and your nation is your child; chose you now, whether you want to strangle the child or you want to nurture the child – go out there in all nine (9) provinces of your beautiful country and do that which is good and right – protect South Africa, preserve South Africa, and give South Africa the leader that she deserves; give South Africa CIC Julius Sello Malema.

I thank you.
